We
are always actively looking for new members and all are welcome to get
an "interview." The reason for interviews is we have certain aspects to
our guild that many do not provide and other aspects that we currently
cannot.
We do NOT recruit people, as that word of mouth
seems the best and most assured way to find good quality members, even
though it might be a slow process in finding them they will come in
time.
There
are actually two interviews and are dependant on the situation. The
non-regular proceedure is when an unknown person to the guild
approaches to be a member. This normally prompts for two interviews.
The first can be by the person who they approach, regardless of
standing or that person can refer them to a higher ranking officer if
they do not feel comfortable doing so. (The first interview is often
skipped because it is a "known" person to a guild member that has been
suggested that they might enjoy the guild.)
The second which
is standard in almost all situations, is with an officer. During the
interview you will normally participate with an officer on a quest or
dungeon you need to do. This allows them to get to know you better and
you will have an opportunity to talk with them about things you want
from a guild and don't want from a guild.
Common questions commanders might ask:
- What do you expect from a guild?
- Do you like to just get items or are you one who prefers to fight for your keep?
- Is high end instancing important to you?
- Do you like PvP?
- Do you have any professions?
- This is one that the officer adding you should ask you for sure upon invite.
- Why our guild?
- How did you find us?
- Is the game for fun or do you take it very seriously?
- How old are you?
- This
really isn't used for determining membership, more just an idea of your
age bracket and potential "cautions" that might be required for during
your game play for other members. (11 year olds really dont need
exposed to sexual inuendos kind of thing.)
Questions perspective members might want to know the answer to: - How does the guild feel about alts?
- What level do I have to be to join?
- Will I get removed for being gone for a while?
- Can I request items from the bank?
- Will the bank help me with my mount or my alts mounts?
- How much will the bank help with a mount?
- What should/can I send to the bank?
- Is PvP/Instances the focus of the guild?
- Who is the guild leader?
- Is there any professions that the guild needs?
- What classes does the guild not have a lot of?
- Is there a specific talent tree I need to do?
- Is there anything I have to download for when I run with the guild?
- Do we have any alliances or enemies?
- Do we RP in /g at all times?
- Do we RP at all?
- Are guild meetings mandatory?
This
interview is meant to tell you about the guild and us about you. You
may get an invitiation, you may not... You may want to join, you may
not. That is the reason for the interview.
- Language restrictions MUST be covered
- Guild age/maturity perspective must be discussed
- Power leveling discussion is important to discuss
If membership does occur:
- The "Notes" feild are where we desinate the professions used by
members and what their skill level is if they desire it to be known. I
only ask that any 300's be sure to get notated so that we know who is
"done" getting points so that I can put more of the bank items towards
leveling the lower skilled members. - The "Private Notes" is where I locate the person's join
information. This is where I list "Samarola's alt" or " MAIN 2005/07/07." I
do put the month and day in short hand now as this allows for me to
organize the guild a little easier with a particular mod I have.
